APOPHYLLITE - From Jalgoan, Maharastra, India (CLICK ON IMAGE FOR LARGER PHOTO)
Tihs is a new, unusual variety of Apophyllite from the Jalgoan area. The color is green with a blue tint, and most of the crystal clusters are of elongated terminated prisms, unlike the usual "blocky" forms found from the Deccan areas of India. All of the Apophyllite crystals are terminated, transparent, and gemmy. The matrix is a mamillary, concretionary Quartz (?), with a few stalagmitic forms.
