These quartz specimens come from Mt. Ida, Arkansas. They are of the "Collier Creek" variety . This type is relatively rare from the locality, and is characterized by a very thin matrix base, making the pieces quite light and delicate in appearance and weight. The crystals are usually more slender and clear than the other types found there.
